Import from Instagram

Instagram keeps the phone contacts you synced with it. Ask Instagram for a copy, then drop the file in here.

   Ask Instagram for your download

   Sign in, choose Download or transfer information (sometimes called Export your information), pick your Instagram account, then Some of your information → Contacts. Choose Download to device, select JSON, and create your files.

   Instagram emails you when the file is ready. Preparation can take longer than 24 hours.

   Your reminder choice is saved, but email reminders are not sending yet.

   Find the right file

   Download your file when the network says it is ready. Open the zip by double-clicking it on a Mac, or right-clicking and choosing Extract all on Windows.

   Open connections, then contacts, and find the file below.

   synced_contacts.json

   Full path: connections/contacts/synced_contacts.json

   Import the file

   You'll see a preview first. Nothing is saved until you confirm.

   Choose synced_contacts.json
